I am the founder and owner of Wildmoor Flowers, a small sustainable flower farm just outside Launceston on Bodmin Moor, Cornwall.

When I left school, I qualified as a Veterinary Nurse, and I have worked in the same independent veterinary practice for nearly 20 years.  I live on the family farm with my husband and 2 children.

During Lockdown while I was on maternity leave, I wanted to grow flowers to give to my family and friends (…mainly my Gran!)  I had an abundance of flowers in the 1st year so put small bunches out on the road with an honesty box, they nearly always sold out and this business has grown from that day.

I am a self-taught gardener and have grown in confidence with floristry skills by practicing as much as possible, in 2022 I was asked to provide DIY flower buckets, bouquets and buttonholes as well as a flower crown to lovely couple for their wedding, I have since provided flowers for the brides sister’s wedding.

The name ‘Wildmoor Flowers’ originated from our flock of pedigree Blueface Leciester sheep that we brought with money we were given for our wedding.  To register our new flock with the Blueface Leciester Sheep Society we needed a flock name.  On a visit to Lanhydrock House, Bodmin a map showed the area our farm is situated on used to be called ‘Wildmoor’ about 200 years ago, so we became the Wildmoor Flock, and only seemed right that the flowers carried the same name as the sheep - it also mirrors the weather and growing conditions on Bodmin Moor quite well at times too!

I now offer seasonally grown cut flowers including bouquets, cater for weddings, buckets of flowers for DIY events and celebrations, funeral arrangements, local subscription flowers, attend local events with flower stands and at Christmas I hold wreath making workshops, offer ready-made Christmas wreath alongside wreath making kits.

My season for flowers usually begins at the beginning of April and runs until October (weather dependent).

Hey, I’m Claire!
